School Challenge Information
What Is The School Challenge?
The School Challenge is an arm of our Kirkwood Greentree Rotary Ramble specifically designed for elementary and middle school kids. Each Kirkwood-area middle and elementary school competes to register the most runners (who run at a reduced price). The middle and elementary schools with the most runners registered will receive $500. We present the $500 checks at the Kirkwood Rotary Club luncheon where we honor the teachers of the year.
Which Race Does My Child Run?
Middle Schoolers
Middle school aged children run in the general 5k race starting at 7:30 am, but pay a reduced price of only $10 instead of $35 (pre-registered). On the day of the race the registration fee for middle school aged children is $12
Parents may stay with their children before and after the race at the Aquatic Center parking lot, and cheer from the sidewalks for their child. Alternatively, parents may run with their child if they pay the general registration fee.
Elementary Schoolers
Elementary school aged children in grades K-5 run in the Fun Run starting at 8:30 am, and pay only $10 pre-registered. The route is just under a mile. Each student receives a t-shirt, and if they complete the course, they will also receive a medal.
Parents may run the course with their child for free, but many parents choose to cheer from the sidewalk along Geyer Road and meet their child at the finish line.
High Schoolers
High schoolers do not have the opportunity to win money for their school, but they do get to run for the reduced cost of $10 pre registered. The registration fee on the Day of the Race is $12..They run in the general race 5k starting at 7:30 am. Each student receives a t-shirt, and if they place in their age group will receive a medal.

Packet pick-up
If you pre-registered you may pick-up your race packet, bib & t-shirt beginning at 1pm and until 5pm on Thursday, September 7th and on Friday, September 8th from 10am to 3pm at:

Race packet, bib & t-shirt pick-up will begin at 6:30am at the Kirkwood Aquatic Center on Saturday, September 9th.
